According to the official Jeep Beach Week website: Jeep Week is one of the largest Jeep events in the world. It attracts over 225,000 people and 25,000 Jeeps to Daytona Beach. Incredibly all 50 states and over 34 countries were represented in 2022!
History of the Jeep:
The first Jeeps rolled of the assembly plants in 1941 to be used as military vehicles. The name appears to be related to its utilitarian use. The name comes from the designation as a General Purpose vehicle. These vehicles, one of the oldest four-wheel drive SUV’s, are still in production today. The legendary Jeep was used by allied forces throughout Europe and the Pacific. At a cost of $648.74, these spartan vehicles were cheap, durable, and reliable, and made an immediate impact in the war effort. Jeeps were used as equipment transports, ambulances, firefighting pumpers, tractors, and after modifications could run on railway tracks. After the war, the ubiquitous Willy found popularity in the marketplace and the company experimented with new styles and models. In the 1950’s, Jeep launched 7 unique models including the M-170, CJ-5, and FC-170. The CJ-5 was the longest run of any Jeep spanning from 1954 to 1984. The 1960’s brought the modern-day Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. In 1963, Jeep introduced the J-Series, Wagoneer which was bigger than a station wagon and was officially marketed as a “Sport Utility Vehicle.” In 1987 the conic Jeep Wrangler was introduced, followed by the Liberty (2002), Commander (2006), Compass (2007), Patriot (2006), Renegade (2014), and Gladiator (2019).
Jeep Beach Week 2023:
Jeep Beach allows enthusiasts to gather with like-minded people, check out the latest products, show off their vehicles, and participate in charitable events. In fact, in 2022, the Jeep Beach organizers donated over $3.8 million dollars to over 70 charitable organizations throughout Central Florida. This year’s events include concerts, 5K run, scavenger hunts, off-road experiences, track laps at the Speedway, Jeep obstacle courses, and the famous Jeep Beach Parade on Sunday April 30th.

A fun trend among Jeepsters is Getting Ducked! No one knows where and how this trend began but it has been a common practice among Jeep enthusiasts. People can either get ducked (a rubber duck of many colors and varieties left on the car door or window) or duck someone else with a ride you admire. After you get ducked, there is a hash tag where you can share your pictures. It is an extremely fun practice. You may be ducked by a Monroe Insurance agent!
